Calabrese poked their heads above the compost today - sharp little buggers they are. Only been in since Saturday night. They are now sitting on a coolish windowsill in the hope that they will not get as leggy as the Greyhound that were sown about 4 weeks ago.

This year I'm going to try potting on me fancy/important brassicas way more than before... from module to 3" pot to 5" pot, planting deeper every time. Partly to beat the slugs and partly to build proper roots on me sprouts and psb. Both of which were only fair to rubbish for me this year.

I read this is what they do at Heligan and that's good enough for me.
